04-12-09
Once again I have lost a day somewhere but this blog is really for 4-12-09. I have set up a blog page so please add this to your list of favorites and share it with your friends. It is easier to make comments in the blog. Thanks Brian. http://iamhavingagreatday.blogspot.com, after you sign on, you just click and subscribe to the feed, I am still setting this blog up so until I have it under control I will continue the emails as well. I'm still trying to figure out how to add pictures etc. It's Happy Easter Day, Cold 50s and blowing and rain expected. We find out that the internet we get works if you hold the computer a certain way and add some tin foil and stand on one leg holding the computer over your head, we can only get it to work if I go outside the coach with the computer. We are going to Clarksdale in the "Delta", home of the blues, it is about 80 miles away. We wanted to just check it out even though we knew that everything was closed for Easter. There is another "Ground Zero Blues Club" in Clarksdale, it's an old warehouse type building with old couches and chairs to sit on outside. It is across the street from the Delta Blues Museum in downtown Clarksdale. They have an old limo there to take the local drunks home, how cool is that. It's 1:30 and we're hungry and we already know that there is not much on the way back to Memphis. We see a Taco Bell and we were going to just get us two soft tacos to hold us over and then we find out it was closed. We circle back a few blocks and stop at Atzimba Mexican Restaurant, we order two 16oz margaritas and they bring out delicious chips and homemade salza. I get the #3 combo it has a spiced beef enchilada and burrito, and a double cheese chili rellano covered with cheese and sauce. Absolulety wonderful but the beef could have been more seasoned for my taste. Dixie's Burrito with tender chunked beef, beans and rice, sour cream and guacamole just as good. Needed a bud light to wash it all down. Total bill $25. Good deal anywhere and we're glad Taco Bell was closed. It is pouring down rain and "windin" on the trip back. We check out the casinos in Tunica and we still can't believe anyone would waste their time away in them. CCR is supposed to be playing at one this Saturday so we stopped for tickets and naturally they don't sell tickets on Sunday or Monday. It just won't stop raining so we decide to eat the Neely's BBQ leftovers for dinner and stay in and watch TV. Any body with experience in setting up a blog, please email or call me. Thanks See Ya Brian
